Pepsi Battle of the Bands

Pepsi Battle of the Bands 2017 kicked off and within a fortnight, everyone in Pakistan grew obsessed with the rising band: Kashmir. If you’re a rare sughar gem of every Pakistani amma’s dream, who doesn’t waste away their life and eyes away on the internet, allow me to explain to you what I’m talking about in two simple sentences:

1)Pepsi Battle of the Bands is a series where unknown bands take part and compete to win the title of the Best Band.

2)Kashmir Band is one of the contestants (with a gorgeous lead singer too, might I add *swoons*)

Now that that’s cleared up, let’s talk about their performance of Mera Pyaar on Episode 3(none of us are really over it, don’t lie okay thanks)

The performance was goddamn emotional, firstly because of Aamir Zaki, a lost legend. At the start we all had reactions of aww’s and pout lips then around 4 seconds later, Bilal, the *lead singer’s voice hits you, like really really really hits you.

That hauntingly beautiful voice has you sinking in deep admiration and it has you hypnotized, and when you start to think that you can’t possibly fall deeper in love their version of Mera Pyar, their guitarist, Vias, comes smashing through with his insane guitar solo which has this weird sort of calming effect to it, and that’s when you know you have truly and wholly sold your soul to this band.

Like us, the judges too – especially Fawwad – are in utter admiration of these talented young musicians. To Kashmir Band, hope you all keep slaying (the stage and our hearts) and thank you for these wonderful new songs which won’t be getting off of repeat anytime soon!
